Job Summary

We are looking for a competent Inventory Officer to monitor and report on the company’s inventory. Your job is important since the efficient handling of the company’s products and supplies is critical for the attainment of business goals. Responsible for evaluating suppliers, products, and services, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that approved purchases are cost-efficient and of high quality. A successful inventory officer is a reliable professional with excellent record-keeping abilities. They possess great attention to detail and a business mindset. The goal is to ensure that all business operations have adequate material to achieve their objectives.

Job Description/ Responsibilities:

Devise ways to optimize inventory control procedures

Inspect the levels of business supplies and raw material to identify shortages

Ensure product stock is adequate for all distribution channels and can cover direct demand from customers

Record daily deliveries and shipments to reconcile inventory

Use software to monitor demand and document characteristics of inventory

Place orders to replenish stock avoiding insufficiencies or excessive surplus

Analyze data to anticipate future needs

Evaluate suppliers to achieve cost-effective deals and maintain trust relationships

Collaborate with warehouse employees and other staff to ensure business goals are met

Report to upper management on stock levels, issues, etc.

Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company

Developing procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective.

Sourcing and engaging reliable suppliers and vendors.

Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms.

Reviewing existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure ongoing feasibility.

Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.

Approving purchase orders and organizing and confirming delivery of goods and services.

Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.

Controlling the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.

Overseeing and managing the IT systems that track shipments, inventory, and the supply of goods.

Preparing procurement reports.

Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients

Expect unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies

Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements

Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.

Undertake any other duties as required.

Job Requirements:

Proficient with ERP Softwares

Proficient with Microsoft Office

Proven experience as inventory officer or similar position

Ability to accurately track inventory and create reports

An analytical mind with strong math skills

Excellent organizational and planning skills

Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities

Reliable and trustworthiness

BSc/BA in business administration. logistics or relevant field;

Bachelor’s degree , prefer to be for supply chain ,logistics, or business administration.

Proven experience managing supply chain operations.

Experience using supply chain management software and tools,

In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).

Management and leadership skills.

Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.

Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in “reading” the market

Talent in negotiations and networking

Salary: N40,000
